July 4th-A Bridge Between Sculpture and Solidarity: The “Gino De Agrò” International Prize in Troina

It is with deep emotion and gratitude that I wish to share with you a particularly significant moment in my artistic journey, a milestone that inextricably links visual art to the essential values of collective growth and solidarity. This 2026 brought me to Sicily, to the heart of a land rich in history and charm, for the 7th edition of the “Gino De Agrò – Città di Troina” International Prize for Visual Arts, Culture, and Solidarity. The Scientific Committee of the event officially announced this year’s list of awardees: a diverse selection of prestigious personalities who, through their talent, research, and dedication, have concretely contributed to the civil, moral, and scientific growth of our society. Within this context of great human and cultural depth, I had the honor of receiving the award for the **”Renowned Artist Section (Sculpture)”**. For someone who, like me, seeks to give shape to messages of peace and harmony through earth, matter, and color, this prize represents a precious confirmation of the ethical role that art can play in the contemporary world. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, July 4th, at 6:00 PM, in an atmosphere of great participation. The backdrop to the event was a setting of extraordinary architectural charm: the evocative and historic courtyard of MACTRO (Contemporary Art Museum of Troina), recently restored to the community and reopened within the former Carmelite convent. The joy of this award is joined by a further source of pride: the museum officially opened its doors on Friday, July 3rd, and it is with immense satisfaction that I can announce that **one of my works is now present inside the museum**. Knowing that one of my sculptures lives and dialogues with visitors in this new cultural hub of Sicily creates a lasting and profound bond with this wonderful city. I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks to Art Historian Paolo Giansiracusa and Dr. Paolo De Agrò for their extraordinary sensitivity, attention, and the esteem they have shown towards my work. A sincere thank you also goes to the Scientific Committee, the institutions, and all those who continue to believe in art as a vital instrument of growth and dialogue.
